My Mom & I share the same birthday, the family took a trip to Catalina Island for the day. We took the Newport Beach boat right from Balboa Island at 9:00 a.m. There was a great little coffee shop we stopped at prior to our departure.
The family took the Catalina Flyer to Catalina Island which was a very comfortable boat ride. We enjoyed a nice morning breeze on the way over, beautiful views and a cocktail to start the day at the bar located on each level of the 3 decker boat.
Catalina flyer arrived at 10:15am, right in time for breakfast! We found Original Jack’s Country Kitchen, just about a 5 minute walk from where we were dropped off.
It was the first time for a few of us, so we weren’t sure what to expect. This is a perfect place to enjoy with close friends & family. Some of the recommend activities are zip lining, botanical gardens and lots of hikes available to explore. They also have some tours and you can rent golf cars to get around the island if you like. We arrived back into Newport Beach around 5:30pm. It was such a memorable day and the experience of exploring beautiful Catalina Island is well worth it…so much history on this island!
